Derek Adams

Dark Matter

Light years apart
and still there is something
unseen between us.

Every few years you
slip back into my orbit,
bright as a comet,

before your trajectory
carries you away:
leaving me in a vacuum

with the pull
of something
Einstein couldn’t explain.
