Green Man
At Lady’s Abbey, Ardfinnan, Ireland
Bulging eyes.
Stone nose eaten by time.
Leafy river
flowing from your mouth.
What are you,
pagan,
doing on the walls
of a Christian Church?
Is it you who embraces
this abandoned place?
Kisses its walls
with great sheets of ivy.
Two lost lovers −
lie down
with each other
again.
