Music and Poetry – Marie Curie Hospice, Hamstead, London

Danielle Hope is a widely published poet, a translator of Italian poetry and a doctor. She has 4
collections of poetry (all Rockingham Press) and one of her poems was featured on the London
Todd Swift is a Canadian-British poet, living in the UK. The Director of Black Spring PressEyewear Publishing, his poetry has been published in ten full collections, notably a Selected from Salmon in Ireland, and numerous pamphlets. He is listed in the Oxford Companion to Modern Poetry
Ian Herbert studied at the Royal Academy of Music and was made a Fellow of the Academy in 1998. He was appointed Principal Clarinettist of the Royal Opera House for almost 40 years, until he retired in 1997. He has recorded music for many popular TV dramas. Pianist Judy Taylor will accompany Ian Herbert.
Sue Greenhill brings her photographer’s eye to sharply observed poems on modern life. She
has been published in various publications, including Agenda and On the Hill, and has
recordings of her work on Sound Cloud. She says: “Life is tough for a lot of people; I like to
bring a bit of lightness.”.
William Oxley: Born in Manchester, William has published many books of poetry and
prose. He has given readings across the globe, including in the UK, Nepal, Antibes, Canada
Susan Sciama is a poet and artist living in London. She has had poems published in
Acumen, 2 Cold Weather Anthologies, N2 Poetry and On the Hill, and was recently asked
to read at a Climate Change event in Margate.
Leah Fritz has several books of prose from New York & poetry from London. Salmon Poetry
brought out her fifth collection, Whoever Sends the Music into Time, in 2012.
The evening will be presented by Leah Fritz and Susan Sciama.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Marie Curie Hospice Hampstead.
