ignitionpress, new pamphlet press from Oxford Brookes Poetry Centre

New pamphlet press will support international poetry talent

Oxford Brookes Poetry Centre has launched a new poetry pamphlet press which will recognise and support outstanding poets from across the world.

The press, entitled ignitionpress, launched online on Friday 15 September and will publish original, arresting poetry from emerging poets and established poets working on interim or special projects.

Niall Munro, Director of the Poetry Centre at Oxford Brookes University and Director of the ignitionpress Editorial Board, said: “The establishment of a poetry press is an exciting new step for the Poetry Centre, which has enthusiastically promoted the work of poets both nationally and internationally since it was set up in 1998.

The Editorial Board has also announced that the first three poets to be published by ignitionpress will be Mary Jean Chan, Patrick Errington, and Lily Blacksell. More information about these writers can be found on the Poets page.

The Poetry Centre is based in the Department of English and Modern Languages at Oxford Brookes University. The Centre hosts an annual programme of events including conferences and research seminars, workshops, exhibitions, poetry readings and community projects. It is also a base for the research into poetry being undertaken within the Department.
